Head to historic Dubai Creek and cross by traditional wooden abra boat to the gold and spice souks of Deira. Wander the wind-tower lanes of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and visit a coffee house. The metro links Downtown with Old Dubai, and an abra crossing costs only a few dirhams.

Join an optional afternoon desert safari for dune drives across the red sands, followed by dinner under the stars at a desert camp, or spend the day relaxing at your hotel. Safaris usually include hotel pick-up. Book locally or in advance (not included).

Spend a day on the long sandy beaches of Jumeirah with views of the Burj Al Arab, or visit the Museum of the Future on Sheikh Zayed Road. Return to your hotel for a final dinner. Dress modestly away from the beach and pool, covering shoulders and knees in souks and older districts.
